Global Forum on Health for Sustainable Development Held at UN, Building a New Future for Worldwide Wellness15 July 2025 – On the sidelines of the UN High-Level Political Forum on Sustainable Development, the “Global Forum on Health for Sustainable Development” took place on the 8th floor of the UN Church Center. Centered on SDG 3 – “Good Health and Well-being” – the event injected fresh momentum and wisdom into the sustainable advancement of global health. The forum drew political leaders, experts, scholars and industry pioneers from around the world to explore how universal health and sustainable development can reinforce one another.



Opening remarks by Ms Li Lin, Chairwoman of Beijing Guangming Charity Foundation and host organizer, set the tone. Speaking on “Joining Hands for a Sustainable Future of Universal Health,” she highlighted the proactive role Chinese NGOs have played in forging global health consensus through innovative projects and broad-based partnerships, bringing well-being to more people.
Co-organizer Dr Zhang Qihua, Chair of the Global Sustainable Development Alliance Foundation, underscored that good health is not only a basic human need but also a core driver of global economic and social progress, urging all stakeholders to advance together.

Mr Bruce Knotts, former Chair of the UN NGO Committee, used his extensive multilateral experience to stress that stronger collaboration among governments, international agencies and civil-society groups is essential to accelerate SDG 3.

During the keynote speech session, numerous guests delved into the related topics of universal health and sustainable development from different perspectives. Ms. Merrie Madashahi, Advisory Council Member of the UNESCO International Center for Creativity and Sustainable Development, shared her insights on "Human Healthy Lifestyles Driving Sustainable Development", emphasizing the fundamental role of healthy lifestyles in promoting personal health and social sustainable development.
Mr. Monga Roindefo Zafitsimivalo, the Transitional Prime Minister of Madagascar, shared the local experiences of African countries in advancing the goal of "good health and well-being", demonstrating the efforts and innovations of developing countries in addressing health challenges. Ms. Ola Yespanko, an academician of the Academy of Architectural Sciences of Ukraine, opened a new perspective on the connection between health and social development with the theme of "The Importance of Mental Health in Global Sustainable Development", emphasizing the central role of mental health in overall health .


The guests from China also brought valuable sharing. Ms. Xue Kuiyang, Director General of the International Department of Beijing Guangming Charity Foundation and initiator of the Extreme Brain Health System, elaborated on "Traditional Chinese Medicine Whole Brain Education: An Innovative Path to Promote Sustainable Development of National Health" and explored new methods of integrating traditional wisdom with modern technology to promote national health. Mr. Hu Zhiyuan, a Ph.D. from the International New Traditional Chinese Medicine Chronic Disease Prevention and Treatment Research Center in Hong Kong, China, elaborated on the unique value and innovative application of traditional medicine in the field of modern health under the theme of "Traditional Chinese Medicine Technology in the New Era is the Eastern Engine for Sustainable Development of Life and Health".
Dr. Wang Chen, Vice President of the United Nations Youth Leadership Foundation and internationally renowned pianist, shared the importance of music in promoting health for all; Ms. Song Ali, President of the New York Health College, discussed the topic of "integrating traditional Chinese and Western medicine to promote sustainable development of national health"; Master Mingdao, the abbot of Zhulin Temple, the first Buddhist temple in China, shared the importance of traditional Chinese medicine in promoting women's health; Ms. Kong Meiqi, Head of the Youth Art Committee of the Global Alliance for Sustainable Development Foundation, discussed the importance of youth art and mental health; Ms. Zhou Jie, Executive Chairman of the Entrepreneur Health Club of the China Electronics Chamber of Commerce, shared the importance of technological health for global sustainable development; Mr. Wang Yugen, founder of the Gorgeous Beauty brand, elaborated on the importance of the health industry for sustainable development; Ms. Wang Yunye, Chairman of Yaxuan Heyu Culture and Art Co., Ltd. in Shenzhen, China, shared "The Promotion of Art Products for National Health". Li Lijuan, Director of Fujian Jianyi Tea Industry Co., Ltd. and inheritor of intangible cultural heritage tea culture, shared the importance of tea culture for health and looked forward to China's intangible cultural heritage tea culture going global and serving human health!







During the forum, a grand certificate awarding ceremony was also held to recognize partners who have contributed to the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals. This is not only a recognition of their past efforts, but also an encouragement for more forces to devote themselves to the global health cause.
Finally, Mr. Zhang Qihua, Chairman of the Global Alliance for Sustainable Development Foundation, the co organizer, delivered the closing speech. He provided a comprehensive summary of the forum, acknowledging the positive impact of the guests' wonderful sharing and active communication on promoting global health, and put forward prospects for future cooperation and development.
The successful holding of the "National Health and Sustainable Development Forum" has provided an important platform for communication and cooperation among various sectors around the world, gathering diverse perspectives and wisdom, and providing new ideas and solutions for achieving the goal of "good health and well-being". Although the forum has come to an end, the action to promote sustainable development of global health for all will continue to deepen, and all parties will work together to make unremitting efforts to build a human health community.
